What To Expect When You Visit Us:
_______________________________________________

Many people are hesitant to attend worship assemblies at an unfamiliar church.  To help ease any apprehensions you may have
regarding this congregation, we would like to explain what you can expect when you visit with us.

You Will Not Be Embarrassed
When you visit us, you will be our honored guest.  We speak our convictions with kindness and courtesy.  You will not be insulted or
confronted here.  Our assembly is not an unrestrained display of emotion and excitement; but a simple and devout period of worship,
praise, study, and prayer.
There will be no high-pressure methods used to influence you in any way, and no embarrassing moments will make you wish you had
not come.

Our Worship Is Simple
Our worship is not difficult or complicated.  Our music is composed of a-cappella (voice only) singing and everyone is encouraged to
participate.  Our prayers are fervent appeals to God, full of praise and thanksgiving.  Our sermons are Christ-centered, scripture-filled,
and designed to be understandable, in order to teach and encourage the listener.  Anyone desiring to become a Christian is afforded
an opportunity at each assembly.  No one will go about the audience singling people out, asking them to stand and give a testimony.

Our Assemblies
First of all, you will find no assigned or special seating for any person.  All visitors are greeted with courtesy, kindness, and without
partiality (Acts 10:34-35).
As we worship, we sing without the use of mechanical instruments (see Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16), because our worship comes
from the heart.  We will be happy to show you from the Bible why we use no instruments, if you would like to study it.

We pray (1 Timothy 2:1-5) together with one man leading us (1 Corinthians 14:16).

We partake of the Lord’s Supper (Communion) each first day of the week (Acts 20:7).  It is a memorial supper in memory of the
Lord’s death (1 Cor. 11:17-34).  Unleavened bread and "the fruit of the vine" symbolize the body and blood of Jesus (1 Cor. 10:16)
which was shed for us.

The financial support of this congregation comes from the free-will offerings of its members made on the first day of the
week (1 Corinthians 16:1-2; 2 Corinthians 8:1-5, 9:6-7).

You will not find special collections taken at every service.  We do not solicit funds from those who are not members of this local
church, and we do not engage in fund-raising activities.  Contributions are used for the spiritual growth of this church, to assist needy
saints, and for the support of men in other areas who are preaching the gospel.  We do not use money collected here for social
programs, entertainment, or the support of any human institution.  We believe the local church can do all the work God has given it to
do, but we will not do more than God has allowed.

We Strive To Be A Congregation:

•With No Name But A Bible Name.

Just a local congregation of Christians, who wish to be one of the “churches of Christ” as mentioned in (Romans 16:16).

• With No Creed But The Bible.
Exalting Jesus Christ as the head of the church and His Gospel as the only source of authority and doctrine.

• That Is Non-Denominational.
Striving to maintain the organization, doctrine, and worship of the New Testament church.  The term “church of Christ” is not used as a
denominational designation but rather as a descriptive term indicating that the church belongs to Christ.

• That Does Not Exalt Men.
The minister wears no distinguishing title or clothing.  Christ is to have preeminence in the church which is His body (Colossians 1:18).

• Teaching The Gospel Plan Of Salvation.
When Peter preached the Gospel on the Day of Pentecost, the believers who repented and were baptized for the remission of sins
were added by the Lord to His church (see Acts 2:38-41, 47).  This was no temporary measure, but it is Christ’s plan for the salvation
of men today, as well as it was then.

• That Invites Investigation.
We have no loyalty to creed or human tradition, and welcome the help of any who can show us how to follow Christ more closely.  If you
see something with which you don't agree, please ask us to tell you why we do it.
We aim to do only the work that God has given us to do:

1. Teach the gospel of Jesus Christ.

2. Build (edify) our members towards the goal of being fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

3. Help needy Christians.

All other “good work” is the responsibility of individual Christians (Titus 2:11-14; James 1:27; Galatians 6:9-10; 1 Timothy 5:16) to be
done at home or elsewhere.

We are a church of Christ, patterned after the New Testament example of local churches; and we are committed to:

1. Divine Love --
We strive to have the kind of love God desires of us towards Him and others (Matthew 22:37-40, 1 John 4:20-21; 5:
1-3).
As God's children who have joined together to work and worship as a body of people, it is our desire to have a loving attitude as
expressed in the life of the Savior.
2. Divine Purpose -- We also strive to engage in those kinds of activities which are ordained and defined by God's Word (Matthew 28:
18-20; Colossians 3:17; 2 Timothy 3:16-17).

We believe that acting within the bounds of God's revealed Will prevents us from becoming something that He never intended.

We exclusively follow the authoritative Word of God, and will always provide you with a Bible answer for everything we practice and
teach.

The distinctive plea of the church of Christ is to speak where the Bible speaks and to remain silent where the Bible is silent, to call Bible
things by Bible names and to do Bible things in Bible ways.  In this way, simple New Testament Christianity can be perpetuated and
propagated (2 Timothy 2:2), and religious unity of all believers in Christ can be accomplished (Ephesians 4:1-6).

We exalt Jesus Christ as the Head of His church and are seeking to glorify Him, not ourselves (Ephesians 3:21). Therefore, our efforts
are directed toward promoting commitment to Christ, and not any man or institution (1 Corinthians 2:5).
You will observe that the Bible is the textbook to which reference is repeatedly made in our classes and sermons (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
You will never be asked to blindly accept what some man thinks or says about the Bible without question.  We want you to read God’s
Word for yourself to see “whether these things are so” (Acts 17:11).

Our plea is for 1st century Christianity in the 21st century.  You are more than welcome at all of our assemblies.  Please come and
bring your Bible to “search the Scriptures” with us!

We are simply Christians without being members of any human denomination.  As such we:
1. Recognize the Bible as the only authority for what we preach and practice.
2. Strive to worship God in spirit and truth.
3. Seek to be obedient to Him in all things.
